“Viola” from Webster Groves, Missouri circa 1885.  17 X 21 charcoal and chalk on stretched canvas.

“Viola age 5 shows off lace petticoat at her Webster Groves home”.  This artwork was actually discovered inside a large  elaborate oak frame that housed another old vintage print.  I opened the frame to clean the dingy glass after purchase and realized the canvas art was probably worth more than what I paid for the frame.  No signature found, but probably done by door-to-door artist of the time.
