Elizabethan Half Groat

c. 1592-95
This coin was minted at the Royal Mint in the Tower of London during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, and were in circulation in England for many years thereafter. They were presented to the College by “The Sydney Morning Herald” to mark the visit to Australia in 1954 of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
