as print periodicals sadly fade and will be greatly missed, we see W5RAn as the next step in art journalism: as an indie online show & tell, we are setting the stage to enable readers and viewers to become active participants and content creators. and with content that changes every hour, on the hour, we are a fresh source of inspiration and contemplation in sync with a world that moves at lightning speeds.

for work featured on W5RAn.com all rights remain the property of the artist’s/producer’s as per their original copyrights and publication with W5RAn neither express or assumes otherwise.
each piece chosen will be featured on the homepage for 6 hours, before moving into our category archives for comments & longevity. simply click on the ‘click to submit’ buttons throughout the site to upload your work for review. the truth is, we can’t do this without you… and we can’t wait to show you off, so please include links and credits as you’d like them to be published – and don’t hesitate to tell us the story behind your work as you upload… we love to share all the details.

W5RAn was born before i was.
it was Harry Hatcher, my maternal grandfather, who explored the world, first in the navy then via his ham radio, callsign W5RAn.
wanderlust . . . a sense of adventure . . . a quizzical, unquenchable appetite for life.
his satsuma orchard philosophy: “always plant things that will provide for you . . . feed you, shade you, give you beauty.”
it was through his 30′ antenna that he could contact and connect with the world both near and far. it was that spark, that inclination to connect, person to person, whether it be in your neighborhood or a world away. to show and tell and see and say and share . . .
in the spirit of exchange,
in the spirit of discovery,
in the spirit of showing and telling and seeing and saying,
and in the fruitful spirit of
Harry Hatcher
we bring you
W5RAn.com: Broadcasting Collaborative Content.
